The 8th World Archery Coaching Seminar took place on 26 – 28 January 2018, at the World Archery Excellence Centre.
On Friday 26 January, 52 coaches from 27 countries arrived to visit the Excellence Centre and participate in the 8th World Archery Coaching Seminar.
Presentations were made by the head coaches of several top level national teams, as well as members of the World Archery Coaches Committee and World Archery staff, Pascal Colmaire, Juan Carlos Holgado, and Secretary General Tom Dielen. The participants got the opportunity to share their experience, learn how to plan, program and schedule an archery season, and advice on how best to manage an archery team in competitions.
“It is the second time I’m joining a World Archery Seminar and it is always amazing. We can meet a lot of people and share with them,” said Noelia Herrero, from Switzerland.
The Centre was well received by many of the seminar’s participants. Miguel Angel Flores (MEX) said, “The Centre is amazing. The facility and everything is perfect. It’s a dream for every coach to have a Centre like this and it’s an opportunity for new archers.”
By the end of the seminar, all the coaches had learnt more about archery team management and coaching during competitions. During the wrap-up sessions, coffee, and lunch breaks, participants took the opportunity to discuss these topics and share their personal experiences.
The 9th World Archery Coaching Seminar will be held in two years’ time. The location is still to be decided. For more information on coaches and future Coaching Seminars, please visit the World Archery Website.
