Last week at the World Archery Excellence Centre, Indian archers from TATA’s archery team of TATA Steel came to train during their off season.
Four recurve archers and three coaches of the TATA Archery Academy visited Switzerland for the very first time. During the week, they shot indoors at 70 metres and analysed their performance with the Excellence Centre’s video system. Kyeong Su Jeoung and Director Juan-Carlos Holgado, Excellence Centre coaches offered advice and coaching tips.
“Our training here was good. I had a very minor mistake that I was facing with my balance and Juan-Carlos Holgado helped me to improve it. Thanks to the video analysis, I could watch and learn by myself, the mistakes I was making and what I was doing right. I’m really happy and I hope we are planning to visit the Excellence Centre again after our selection, “ said Jayanta Taluktar, multiple gold medallist in team and individual categories.
Among the archers, Ankita Bhakat recently won the gold medal in mixed team at the Rosario 2017 World Championships and in her category Deepika Kumari is considered one of the best archers in the world.
“The Excellence Centre is really good, beautiful and peaceful. I am able to concentrate on my shooting. I really like this place, because it is the first time that I am shooting at 70m indoors. The Excellence Centre is really quiet, which lets me concentrate more, finding my mistakes and strengths,” said Prachi Singh, the youngest archer.
