LESSON FOR LICENSED ARCHERS

The World Archery Excellence Centre is a development hub for archery worldwide and a sports centre for the community and organisations in Switzerland, offering courses for both the elite and beginner archer.

TRAINING CAMPS

Organized training camps will be hosted several times each year. Recurve or Compound, these specialized camps will be delivered by Experts in that field. Here you will learn tips on shooting, equipment tuning, mental aspects, competition preparation and more. Our target audience includes licensed archers from club to regional to international levels.

The World Archery Excellence Centre (WAEC) is proposing various training camps during the year.

Recurve Training camp

Compound Training camp

  • Dates: 29 September 2019 (1 group of 10 archers maximum) and 30 September 2019 (1 group of 10 archers maximum), participants to register for the date of their choice

  • The objective of this activity is to offer personalised advice to archers during one day of practical teaching. The two experts will analyse and supervise in a personalised way (for the mental and technical aspects) a small group of archers for the whole day.

From September 28 to 30, Mr Fred Van Zutphen and Mr Peter Elzinga will be conducting compound workshops at the World Archery Excellence Centre (WAEC) for coaches and archers.

Experts information:

Fred Van Zutphen is a sales manager JVD who represents Netherlands at archery. Fred started archery in 1986 and made his international debut in 1990. He is well-known for breaking the FITA round 1300-point barrier in Recurve and the 1400-point barrier in Compound.

Peter Elzinga started archery in 1990. He is a semi-professional archer and the owner of an archery shop. He represents Netherlands at archery.

Registration fee:

  • The daily cost of the coaches workshop is CHF 175 per person. This price includes lunch in the Target restaurant at the World Archery Excellence Centre with the two experts, as well as snacks and drinks during the day.
  • The daily cost of the athletes workshop is CHF 250 per person. This price includes full access to the World Archery Excellence Centre facilities for one day (indoor, outdoor, sauna, fitness, hydromassage,...), and a supervised, personalised training with the two experts.

Food & Beverage for the Coaches workshop, 28 September 2019

Lunch, snacks and drinks will be available at the World Archery Excellence Centre. The daily menu will be distributed to each participant by e-mail before arriving (special meals such as vegetarian or gluten-free upon request). The price is included in the registration fee.

Korean coach Kim Hyung Tak is coming back to the World Archery Excellence Centre to offer personalised training sessions on December 6, 7, 9 and 10.

Registration fee: the registration fee for a 1h30 session is CHF 230. This includes the personalised 1h30 training session with coaching from Kim Hyung Tak and video analysis, full access to the World Archery Excellence Centre and one hydromassage session.

PERSONAL TRAINING

Personal training is the best way to improve on specific skills and gain understanding of the different aspects of Archery. Areas covered include: form, planning for the season, equipment, tuning, physical training and mental training.

COACHES COURSES

World Archery coaching certification courses will be organized throughout the year. These are designed to help promote and develop archery around the world.

Provides diploma certification.

To register, a letter of support from a WA Member (National Archery Federation or Association) is required.

World Archery Level 1 Coaches Course (English)

World Archery Prime Practical Course for Level 1 Coach Candidates

  • Important: Subject to eligibility and successful completion of the World Archery Prime Online Pre-course for Level 1 Coach Candidates. Please contact your national federation to receive your registration code to access the World Archery e-learning platform for the online test. Registration to the Practical Course will be open on October 11 following confirmation of the holding of the course at these dates: a minimum number of 8 participants having passed the Online Pre-Course is required.

World Archery Level 2 Coaches Course (English)

Register to follow a complete program and become an international coach.

Note: Our level 1 coach courses will allow you to earn a diploma after completing a theoretical and practical training and passing an exam.

Registration fee: Coaches course registration fee is CHF 470. It includes lunches, hot drinks and snacks (coffe breaks), transportation to and from accomodation options A and B only, a dinner at a restaurant with your course experts and other participants, and a visit to the Olympic Museum.

 

Coaches Course Schedule

One month before the start of the course, you will receive your schedule and information about various documents and/or readings.

 

Food & Beverage

The price of your registration includes all lunches and a dinner at a restaurant, please indicate your allergies so that we can offer you an adapted menu.

You will receive this menu 2 weeks before the start of the course.

Your registration also includes 2 coffee breaks per day with hot drinks and snacks.

21 days in advance: CHF 470 registration fee is fully refundable.

Less than 21 days in advance: CHF 470 registration fee is not refundable.

Less than 3 days in advance: any cancellation fee regarding the hotel, meals, etc. will be invoiced to you. If not paid, your federation will be notified.

CAMPS FOR CLUB ARCHERS

Are you an archer between the age of 12 and 16 with a minimum of at least 2 years of shooting and wish to improve your shooting and performance skills? This is your chance, come and join us during the holidays to get tips and instruction from real archery experts! During these 5 days, you will learn how to prepare your body to shoot better through physical exercises adapted to archery. In addition, you will learn how to improve your form, bow tuning for more efficient shooting, how to manage the stress of competition, improving your focus and planning a strategy to improve your scores.

Price

CHF 470.- including lunch, mineral water, snacks, initiation equipment, archery classes and other activities under the supervision of qualified coaches (1 coach for 6 children).

Youth Performance Group

The 'Youth Performance Group' is an ongoing, specialized group targeted at archers under the age of 13 who have completed both Start and Improve Archery successfully.
