LESSON FOR LICENSED ARCHERS

The World Archery Excellence Centre is a development hub for archery worldwide and a sports centre for the community and organisations in Switzerland, offering courses for both the elite and beginner archer.

TRAINING CAMPS

Organized training camps will be hosted several times each year. Recurve or Compound, these specialized camps will be delivered by Experts in that field. Here you will learn tips on shooting, equipment tuning, mental aspects, competition preparation and more. Our target audience includes licensed archers from club to regional to international levels.

Personal training is the best way to improve on specific skills and gain understanding of the different aspects of Archery. Areas covered include: form, planning for the season, equipment, tuning, physical training and mental training.

COACHES COURSES

World Archery coaching courses will be organized throughout the year. These are designed to help promote and develop archery around the world.

The level 1 Coaching Course provides a diploma and a World Archery certification to participants succeeding in both the theoretical and practical exams.

The Coaching Courses level 2 and 3 provides a certificate of attendance. To register, a letter of support from a World Archery Member Association is required.

World Archery Level 1 Coaches Course (English)

Register to follow a complete programme and become an international coach.

Note: Our level 1 coach courses will allow you to earn a diploma after completing a training and passing a theoretical and practical exam.

Registration fee: Coaches course registration fee is CHF 470. It includes lunches, 2 coffee breaks per day with hot drinks and snacks, and a ticket to visit the Olympic Museum in Lausanne.

One month before the start of the course, you will receive the course schedule as well as any other information needed.

 

Food & Beverage

The price of your registration includes all lunches and two coffee breaks per day with hot drinks and snacks. Please indicate your allergies so that we can offer you an adapted menu.

You will receive this menu 1 month to 2 weeks before the start of the course.

 

IMPORTANT :

We do not provide transportation to or from Geneva airport or to or from Lausanne train station. Public transport is available at www.sbb.ch/en

Access conditions:

Level 1 Coaching Course

It is requested from participants to have completed the Online Pre-course and the CoachTrue anti-doping online Learning programme. Proof of the successful completion of these online courses should be sent before the beginning of the practical course.

World Archery advises its Member Associations to register coaches with at least 2 years of registration as a licensed archer and 2 participations to competitions registered in the national competitions calendar.

Level 2 Coaching Course

A letter of approval is required from your federation indicating that your federation agrees with your registration.

World Archery advises its Member Associations to register coaches with at least 1 year of experience as a Level 1 Coach (national or international certification).

It is requested from participants to have completed the CoachTrue (Elite) anti-doping online Learning programme and to have read the World Archery Coaching Manual level 2.

Level 3 Coaching Course

A letter of approval is required from your federation indicating that your federation agrees with your registration.

World Archery advises its Member Associations to register coaches with at least one year of experience as a Level 2 Coach (national or international certification).

The list of « partner accommodations » proposed does not include the 470 CHF registration fee for the coaches course.

Stay at the guestroom Espace JayKay with local transportation, breakfast and dinner.

The closest hotel to the WAEC is the AQUATIS Hotel *** (just 8 mins by car from the Centre, or 15-20 mins by public transports: bus)

  • Triple room (shared): CHF 160 per room per night

Breakfast included at the hotel and lunch included at the Centre.

Dinner is NOT included.

Stay at the communal inn of Corcelles-le-Jorat.

Local transportation

Geneva International Airport is the closest airport to the WAEC. Trains depart directly from the airport to Lausanne train station every 30 to 45 min. It takes 45 minutes to reach Lausanne by train.

Public transport can be used to access the WAEC and to return to the hotel. Any person accommodated in a hotel in Lausanne will receive a free public transport card from the hotel to be used for this purpose.

Cancellation Policy

21 days in advance: CHF 470 registration fee is fully refundable.

Less than 21 days in advance: CHF 470 registration fee is not refundable.

Less than 3 days in advance: any cancellation fee regarding the hotel, meals, etc. will be invoiced to you. If not paid, your federation will be notified.

Coaching workshops are specific workshops targeted at one module (Compound, recurve, field, mental aspects, physical aspects, etc.) delivered by key expert coaches for any level of coaching.

COACHES SEMINARS

The World Archery Coaching Seminar is a biannual event that gathers coaches from around the world to share and discuss knowledge about the sport and how to improve it.

JUDGES COURSES/SEMINARS

Judges courses are organized to certify new judges as well as for the re-accreditation of existing judges, both on the regional and international level.

Requires a letter of support from an WA Member (National Archery Federation or Association)

CAMPS FOR CLUB ARCHERS

Are you an archer between the age of 12 and 18 with a minimum of at least 2 years of shooting and some experience in competition, and wish to improve your shooting and performance skills? This is your chance, come and join us during the holidays to get tips and instruction from real archery experts! During these 5 days, you will learn how to prepare your body to shoot better through physical exercises adapted to archery. In addition, you will learn how to improve your form, bow tuning for more efficient shooting, how to manage the stress of competition, improve your focus and plan a strategy to improve your scores.

Price

CHF 470.- including lunch, mineral water, snacks, initiation equipment, archery classes and other activities under the supervision of qualified coaches (1 coach for 6 children).

The 'Youth Performance Group' is an ongoing, specialized group targeted at archers under the age of 13 who have completed both Start and Improve Archery successfully.
