The third and last competition day of the World Archery Masters Championships took place on August 18, followed by the closing ceremony of the event at the World Archery Excellence Centre.
During that day, on which 28 categories competed, the Recurve archers discovered the Field course of Montheron along with the 40-49 years old Compound divisions, while the Instinctive bow and Longbow categories enjoyed the Outdoor event on the field of the World Archery Excellence Centre. Indoor, all the Compound and Barebow archers competed at 25m in the morning and 18m in the afternoon.
The last Masters World champions of the event were named on that day, with Richard Smith from USA getting the title in the Compound men division while Luc Verdeyen from Belgium, now World champion of the Field and Outdoor events, won the silver medal. In the Compound women division, Julia Oleksejenko from Latvia won her second World champion title after getting the gold medal in the Outdoor competition.
Among the Recurve archers, both Eric Libert from France and Nathalie Dielen from Switzerland won their third medal of the event. The Frenchman is now Field, Indoor and Outdoor World champion, while the Swiss Olympian got the gold medal of the Field event after winning silver for the Indoor competition and bronze for the Outdoor.
This competition day, the last of the three on which the archers were competing for the Masters World champion title and medals, was concluded by a closing ceremony organised in the outdoor shooting field of the World Archery Excellence Centre, during which World Archery Secretary General Tom Dielen as well as World Archery Excellence Centre Director and Olympic champion Juan Carlos Holgado gave a speech before awarding the last medals of the World Archery Masters Championships.
