Last week, the World Archery Excellence Centre hosted more than 15 children, who participated in the first summer camp for beginners.

Aged between 8 to 12 years old, the participants had the opportunity to discover archery for a week at the Excellence Centre, based in Lausanne.

Thanks to the monitors, they were able to build their own bow and arrows, learn the basics of archery and participate in a few different activities.

One such activity was to create teams to participate in the “Hunger Games”.  Divided in three parts, the activity provided the children an opportunity to learn while having fun.

"In the first step, we had to shoot at plates that represented water, food, care and shelter.  The goal was to get as many as possible. Once in the arena, we had to shoot at the targets to get arrows. Some parts of the targets also caused diseases and damage. Because of them, two teams were eliminated. It was awesome," said the participants.

Registration for the Autumn Camp for Beginners is now open. For more information, please contact us via email at info@worldarcherycentre.org or phone on +41 21 614 20 60
